About E. J. Edgerton Funeral Directors
We pride ourselves on our highly professional manner removing you from as much of the burden of responsibility as you wish in the difficult times following a loss.
We are proud to remain independant and feel the nature and size of our business allows us to offer the families of the deceased a much more personal service from the instant you first contact us to the time your loved one is laid to rest and beyond.
1935 - The start of E. J. Edgerton began with Eric John Edgerton who founded the business at Bradenheath nr. Whitchurch.
1965 - With the retirement of Eric John Edgerton the business was passed down to John Edgerton, Eric's son. John remained the director of the business until his passing in 1975.
1975 - David Carpenter (Son-in-law) and Carolyn Carpenter (Daughter) to John Edgerton became directors of the business following John's death. The husband and wife team continued to grow the business on the back of personal recommendations.
1983 - The methodist chapel adjacent to the family home at Bradenheath closes and is purchased and converted into a funeral home and chapel of rest.

2007 - Funeral directing office and monumental showroom opened in near by Whitchurch increasing convenience to many customers.
2013 - The Whitchurch office is relocated to 62 High Street, a prominent and convenient location adjacent to Saint Alkmund's Parish Church. The larger premises allow for improved facilities and subsequently an improved service including a large chapel of rest, offices, arranging room, mortuary and large memorial displays all of which were purposely designed and completed to high standards.
2014 - The office at Ellesmere is opened in an area we have always regularly worked in since the companies beginning 3 Church Street again incorporates memorial display and all other necessary facilities. The office is situated on the same street as Ellesmere Parish Church St. Mary's.
In the future - We aim to offer the personal and caring service that we have always been associated with and in turn led us winning a funeral services personal care award in 2013.
